Crowns
A crown is used when the visible part of the tooth ,known as the crown, has been damaged and is not able to be restored by other methods. A porcelain crown is used to encase the entire tooth and restore it to its original shape and size.
This treatment will take two separate appointments. At the first appointment the tooth is prepared for the crown by having all decay removed and remaining surfaces shaped. Then a mold of the tooth is taken and sent to the lab to create your custom crown. You will leave with a temporary crown and will return a second time two weeks later to have the permanent crown placed. Crowns are durable and may last several years but on occasion they will need replacement.
This repairs any fractured fillings, severe decay, cosmetics issues, and loss of tooth structure due to root canals.
